This is the first meeting of the Chamber Government Committee. Duration will be 60-90 min max. The purpose of this meeting is to begin the process. To participate, you must be a Pineville NC Chamber member. The initial scope of the committee is as follows: 1. Pineville Business Sign Regulations Identify the greatest business challenges with the current sign regulations in Pineville compared to other surrounding towns within a reasonable distance to Pineville. These challenges include sign placement, size, style and other factors to be identified by the committee. Research regulations of surrounding towns with the goal of determining how they manage signage issues for which the Town of Pineville has concerns. 2. Identify Pineville Business Regulations that cause great difficulty or cost For example, the current regulations that require upgrading an entire building to the current zoning standard when you are trying to upgrade something on the building that would be an improvement over the current building (e.g.. new windows, exterior siding, etc.). Propose alternatives that would be manageable for the town to enforce on a consistent basis. As with #1, research the regulations of surrounding towns. 3. Business Regulations Enforcement Evaluate and propose enforcement policies which are understandable, consistent and reasonable to understand by businesses Make recommendations on implementing a business onboarding function by the town, whose purpose would be to help businesses establishing a presence in Pineville to smooth the process. 4.
