Our foundation

Eleven years ago, we created a managed care plan used throughout the state today. It helps people with complex needs who receive Medicaid, or who might not have insurance, access services and supports in their communities. Using managed care makes more services available to more people, in a way that is cost-effective for the state and taxpayers. Since our organization’s founding, we have been dedicated to improving the health and wellness of our members and their families in North Carolina. Making sure that each individual has a voice and a choice in the care they receive is the most important part our plan.

Our personal approach

Strong connections are key to better health and wellness in our regions. Person-centered care guides everything we do. Our teams connect with people to help them find and follow customized care plans.

Our focus on each person's needs has grown the largest service array in the state. Our NCQA-accredited plan meets standards for regulation, members, and employees.

But we are more than our milestones. We are members’ strength, providers’ compassion, and employees’ hard work. We are leaders who meet needs with expertise and a caring attitude.
